A 32-year-old bodaboda rider was killed by gangsters who robbed him of his motorbike and two mobile phones before raping his wife in Got Rateng’ village, Lambwe East, Homa Bay County.
The criminals reportedly entered Jacob Osore’s house at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, attacking him with a panga, rendering him unconscious, and then assaulting his wife.
According to Lambwe East Chief Benard Ouma, the gangsters were heard demanding money that Osore had obtained during a fundraiser held a few weeks ago to help him purchase another motorbike after his previous one was stolen in a previous robbery incident.
Osoro was taken to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His wife is also recovering at the same hospital.
The deceased’s body is at the Homa Bay County Referral Hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, Mbita Sub-county Police Commander Solomon Barngetuny has confirmed that his men are already on the scene.
