Homa Bay: Police Launches Manhunt For Suspects Who Allegedly Gang-Raped Village Elder’s Wife

Police in Homa Bay County have launched an investigation into an incident in Kanyango in which a gang of four men attacked and raped the wife of a village elder.

According to reports, the woman was sleeping with her 2-year-old daughter when the men broke into her home after midnight and committed the crime.

According to Kanyango Location Assistant Chief Samuel Nyagwara, the four demanded to know the whereabouts of the village elder.

“The suspected criminals gained entry into the house and switched off the lights in the sitting room before they began to rape her,” he said.

Following the incident, Mr Nyagwara stated that they threatened to kill the woman if she attempted to raise an alarm.

They stole her mobile and a total of Ksh.17,000.

Homa Bay police commander Samson Kine said they are with residents to trace the whereabouts of the suspects.

“The suspects disappeared after the incident but we’re pursuing them. Legal action must be taken against them,” Kine said.
