Homa Bay Woman Arrested for Allegedly Killing Two-Week-Old Infant

Authorities in Homa Bay have arrested a 28-year-old woman accused of killing her two-week-old son in the Kadel area of Rachuonyo North Sub-county.

The mother of three allegedly committed the heinous act in her home before disposing of the infant’s body in a nearby maize plantation.

According to Rachuonyo North Sub County Police Commander Lydia Parteiyie, the woman was seen entering the plantation carrying a child. When she emerged a short time later without the baby, concerned members of the public intervened.

Upon questioning, the mother initially refused to disclose the whereabouts of her child. However, she eventually led the community to the maize field, where the infant’s body was discovered.

The suspect was promptly arrested and taken to Kadel police post, before being transferred to Kendu Bay Police Station, where she is currently detained. Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the tragic incident.

The infant’s body has been transported to Kendu Adventist Hospital Mortuary as authorities continue their inquiry into this heart-wrenching case.
