A young mother has been arrested by police officers after she beheaded her child whom she alleges refused to breastfeed. – By Gerald Gekara.
The incident occured in Ng’ope village in Konyango sub-Location, North Kabuoch Location in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay county.
Young Night Akoth Otieno 23, allegedly took a panga and beheaded her son using a machete, an incident which took place last night when her husband was away from home.
According to the area assistant chief, Gabriel Nyatame, neighbours rushed to the scene, tied the mother’s hands and threatened to lynch her.
The infant’s body was moved to the Manyatta Nursing Home mortuary at Kobodo trading center, while the woman is expected in court over murder charges.
