House Oversight Committee Releases Epstein Estate Records, Trump Denies Birthday Letter

The House Oversight Committee on Monday evening released a trove of documents from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein, including what Democrats described as a page from a “birthday book” bearing President Donald Trump’s name.

The book, compiled for Epstein’s 50th birthday by associate Ghislaine Maxwell, contains letters, photos, and memorabilia from Epstein’s life prior to 50, including contacts with prominent figures such as former President Bill Clinton and attorney Alan Dershowitz.

Democrats highlighted a handwritten caption beneath a photo depicting Epstein alongside others, joking about selling a “fully depreciated” woman to Trump for $22,500.

The White House has strongly denied Trump authored or signed the note. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that “it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” while Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich shared images of the president’s signature on other documents to counter claims.

The released records also include Epstein’s last will and testament, entries from his address book, and the 2007 non-prosecution agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.

The Oversight Committee subpoenaed these materials as part of its ongoing probe into Epstein’s activities and associations, amid calls for increased transparency, including from members of Trump’s own party.

Republicans on the committee, led by Chairman James Comer, criticized Democrats for “cherry-picking” materials for public release, asserting that Trump is not accused of wrongdoing and emphasizing that the committee seeks full transparency for Epstein’s victims.

The birthday book spans three volumes, featuring personal photos, Cub Scout documents, and lewd notes with redacted names. Lawyers representing Epstein’s estate confirmed ongoing document production and highlighted redactions to protect potential victims. The committee is expected to review additional unredacted materials later this week in New York City.
