The Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Huruma Ward Peter Owera Oluoch was today arraigned in Court for providing false information to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
The MCA was also charged with forging three signatures and three official stamps from different advocates purporting them to be genuine among other charges.
Appearing before Chief Principal Magistrate Isabella Barasa of the Anti-Corruption at the Milimani Law Courts the accused MCA denied the charges.
According to charge sheet, on December 20, 2012, MCA Oluoch provided false information to EACC stating that he holds a diploma from Kenya Polytechnic contrary to section 46 (1) (d) as read with section 46 (2) of the leadership and integrity Act No. 12 of 2012.
On the second count, Oluoch is accused that on May 26, 2017, at the Nairobi County with intent to deceive, he embossed a false stamp impression in the name of Nelson Pinto Atudo, advocate and commissioner for oaths.
The third count reads that on the same date he forged a signature on the self-declaration form in the name of Nelson Pinto Atudo contrary to section 345 as read with section 349 of the Penal Code.
On the last count Oluoch is said that he knowingly and willfully made a false declaration under part 5 of the self-declaration form, set out in the first schedule of the leadership and integrity Act 2012 indicating he obtained a diploma from the Kenya Polytechnic on June 11, 1996.
Chief Principal Magistrate Isabella Barasa released Oluch with a cash bail of Ksh100, 000 with an alternative bond of Ksh3, 000, 000 million and directed that he deposits his passport in court.
