Kenya to Host NADPA Conference on Strengthening African Data Protection Frameworks

On behalf of PS ICT and the Digital Economy PS Eng. John Tanui, the Secretary, ICT Security and Audit Control, Mr. Emmanuel Kata Kimeu, chaired a media briefing this morning on the Network of African Data Protection Authorities (NADPA) AGM and Conference 2024.

The event will take place at the Windsor Hotel and Golf Club in Kenya from May 7, 2024, to May 10, 2024, and is organised by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

The annual conference, with the theme “Promoting Regional Data Governance for Digital Transformation,” brings together enterprises, investors, and executives from global corporations operating in Africa and beyond with data protection authorities.

The purpose of the event is to accomplish a number of important goals, one of which is to enable African data protection authorities to share information and best practices in order to reinforce the establishment of strong data protection frameworks.

It is anticipated that the Conference will attract around 700 attendees, making it a noteworthy event.

Media houses, who are important players in the success of organising and hosting the conference in May 2024, were present at the breakfast meeting.
