Mama Ida Odinga’s bodyguard was shot dead by assailants near Uzima University in Kisumu County on Thursday night, October 13.

The incident was reported on Thursday night.

Cpl Barrack Otieno Oduor was killed in the company of a woman and another male companion both of whom sustained injuries from the incident.

A reliable source indicated that the assailant who is said to be a manager of one of the clubs in Kisumu took off from the scene after the shooting.

Nyanza regional police boss Karanja Muiruri confirmed the incident but promised to provide further details after receiving the full report.

The suspect also shot the woman in the arm and the man was shot in the leg.

Those who were injured are admitted at a facility within the lake-side city.

According to multiple sources, including junior police officers who spoke on condition of anonymity, the bodyguard was shot dead following a dispute.
