IEBC Awarded For Top Procurement In 2022

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has been recognized for “outstanding” procurement process management over the last year.

The commission placed third in the Public Procurement Project of the Year category at the Kenya Institute of Supply Management Awards on Friday.

“The Commission was yesterday feted for its exemplary procurement process management in the last year,” the IEBC said in a tweet.

The event was conducted at the Carnivore Grounds and was attended by Hon. Felix Koskei, Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service.

The Kenya Institute of Supply Management Award gala dinner honors individuals and businesses that have demonstrated outstanding practices in Supply Chain Management.

The award comes amid a conflict between four of the election body’s seven commissioners and President William Ruto.

Ruto suspended Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera, as well as fellow Commissioners Irene Masit, Justus Nyang’aya, and Francis Wanderi, on Friday, and convened a tribunal to hear a petition to remove them from office.
