In Summary: IEBC Targets to register 4.5 Million new voters ahead of the General Elections.
The second phase of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration and Diaspora Voter Registration has begun in all 47 counties.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) targets to register 4.5 Million voters, amid failure from the first round of Mass registration.
The activity, which will run from Monday through February 6, comes after the Commission registered only 800,462 new voters.
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, will conduct the excercise from January 21 to February 6 for Kenyans living in the East African Community, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, South Sudan, and Germany.
IEBC says it has involved stakeholders in generating interest for Kenyans to increase its database.
Through voter education and mobilization, IEBC will be seeking to end voter-apathy which is slowly becoming more of a problem.
