IEBC Commissioner Fahima Araphat Abdallah elected Vice Chairperson

    The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Fahima Araphat Abdallah has been elected as the vice chairperson of the agency.

    She is the youngest commissioner in the new team that was sworn in on Friday.

    Born in Lamu County in 1992, she is a governance and finance expert with notable public service and leadership experience.

    Ms. Fahima holds a Master’s in Project Planning & Management (UoN), a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (KU), and CPA (Advanced).

    She has served as a CECM, MCA Service Board Member, and Ward Administrator in Lamu County.

    During the vetting process, she shared her passion for youth empowerment, citing her role in founding Shella Women’s Empowering Group, which has educated over 40 marginalized women in Lamu.
