IEBC Makes Announcement On 2022 Elections

The date for the general election has been set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). 

Kenyans will be queuing up to vote on August 9 2022 despite clouds of uncertainty over the fate of the Building Bridges Initiative.

Chairman Wafula Chebukati also detailed the timelines for other pre-election activities in a gazette notice, including the submission of party membership lists, which has a deadline of April 9, 2022. 

Chebukati went on to say that political parties planning to run for President must also submit the names of those who will run in the party primary, as well as the date and location of the primaries, 21 days before the nomination deadline.

Campaign dates have also been set for May 29 2022 while those who have disputes with thir political parties will settle their disputes by June 9th 2022.
