‘I’m not wife material – I Dont Even Know How to Wash Clothes’: Pritty Vishy sparks debate on Domestic Expectations

Kenyan content creator and social media star Purity “Pritty Vishy” Visram has set tongues wagging after candidly declaring that she does not know how to wash clothes, fold laundry, scrub dishes daily or even wipe down a TV stand – and has no intention of forcing herself to learn.

In a series of unfiltered videos posted on her socials, the 23-year-old laid bare her domestic limitations with characteristic bluntness.

“I don’t know how to be wife material,” she said in Swahili. “I have never even been a mama fua (laundry lady) at any point in my life.”

Vishy insisted the issue is not laziness but genuine struggle: household chores feel overwhelming and unnatural to her, despite her love for a spotless home.

“Carpet, bed, kitchen counter – I just can’t,” she laughed, adding that she relies happily on professional cleaners. “That’s why cleaners exist. Let’s promote them – I will keep promoting them.”

Her solution is simple: hustle until she can comfortably outsource every chore. “At this point I have to be rich,” she declared. “I can’t love cleanliness and still be poor.”

The confession has divided opinion online. While some young women celebrated her honesty and rejection of outdated “wife material” checklists, others accused her of normalising helplessness and setting a poor example for her largely Gen-Z audience.

Relationship commentators were quick to weigh in, with several arguing that basic life skills remain non-negotiable regardless of wealth or fame. But Vishy’s supporters countered that emotional compatibility, financial independence and mutual respect matter more than who scrubs the dishes in 2025.

Pritty Vishy shot into the limelight as the spouse of Stevo Simple boy and has since crafted her own space in the socials, despite their public breakup.
