IMF To Approve Sh29b Loan To Kenya

Kenya is set to receive another 29 billion shillings from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The IMF will meet in Washington later on Monday to approve the third review of a three-year loan program.

At the meeting, the National Treasury will also present a new proposal that would modify the terms and conditions of the loan program signed in February of last year.

The new loan is expected to bring the total disbursements for the three-year loan program to 142 billion shillings.

Kenya is expected to receive 276 billion shillings by the end of 2024.
