ITEN, KENYA – In a continued crackdown on illicit drug activities, anti-narcotics detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested Malik Aman, an Indian national, in connection with the illegal possession of pharmaceutical products.
The arrest was made following a court-sanctioned raid on the suspect’s residence in Iten. Acting on intelligence, DCI officers executed a search warrant issued by the Iten courts, leading to the discovery and seizure of a range of pharmaceutical items believed to be stored unlawfully.

According to officials, the operation was part of an ongoing surveillance effort, with Aman having been under the radar of law enforcement agents for some time. The recovered substances were inventoried on-site before being transported to the relevant authorities for forensic analysis.
Aman has since been released on cash bail to facilitate comprehensive testing of the seized items at the Government Chemist. The results are expected to determine the legality, composition, and potential public health risk of the substances.
The DCI reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating the sale, distribution, and consumption of banned substances, both local and foreign. Authorities have called on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious pharmaceutical activity in their communities.
