A new Infotrak poll shows that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga is still the most preferred candidate in the State House race.
The poll, which was released on Wednesday morning in Nairobi, also shows that his main rival in the presidential race, Deputy President, is in second place with 37 percent, while Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah is in third place with 4 percent.
Agano Party presidential candidate David Mwaure Waihiga has 0.1 percent.
“Raila has not gained much since we did our last poll in June. His popularity has increased by one percent and Ruto’s has gone down by one percent from 38 percent last time,” Infotrak boss Angela Ambitho said.
In terms of votes, the survey indicated that if elections were held today, Raila would get 9.4 million votes while Ruto 8.1 million votes.
The poll represents a one percentage point gain for Raila and a one percentage point loss for DP Ruto compared to June.
The pollster indicated that 16% of the electorate are yet to decide who they will vote for. This translates to 3.6 million voters.
“If Ruto’s popularity has dropped by one percent and Raila has gained by the same margin then the net gain from undecided voters must have gone to Wajackoyah,” said Ms Ambitho.
