Inter beat Parma to go four points clear in Serie A

Inter Milan moved four points at the top of Serie A as they beat Parma.

Federico Dimarco put Inter in front after 42 minutes when he beat Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi from a tight angle.

The goal was initially ruled out for offside before being given after a VAR review.

Petar Sucic had a chance to increase Inter’s lead when Henrikh Mkhitaryan threaded a ball into his path, but he fired wide.

Inter thought they had doubled their lead in when Ange-Yoan Bonny slotted home from close range, but the goal was ruled out by VAR after Marcus Thuram was shown to have controlled the ball with his arm during the build-up.

Seconds later, with barely any time remaining, Thuram atoned by latching on to Nicolo Barella’s ball over the top and slotting home to make it 2-0.

Second-placed AC Milan will have the chance to reduce the gap back to one point when they host Genoa on Thursday (19:45 GMT).
