Once again, the cabinet secretary for interior, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen has retaliated that his office does not whatsoever support any form of abduction or extra judicial use of force against Kenyans contrary to the bill of rights.
According to CS Kipchumba through his Lawyer Danstan Omari, it is not government policy or his ministry’s policy to condone, uphold and allow abduction of Kenyans or any foreigner.
He has however maintained that his name was politically dragged into the petition.
“The petition was filed by the Law Society of Kenya, surprising, the people pursuing the agenda are politicians. It is not clear how the likes of Baba Yao come to be the forefront of issues of children who have gone missing.” Said Lawyer Omari.
According to the Lawyers, suing the Directors of NIS, ODPP and the CS Interior is far fetched as the said offices have got nothing to do with the matter.
Lawyer Danstan Omari said that CS Kipchumba’s legal team would be advising him to advise the IG and the AG to move with speed to the court of Appeal to stay the orders of the High Court to have to have IG Kanja appear in Court.
According to Advocate Omari, IG has officers below him just like the Chief Justice yet the country has never witnessed a scenario where the CJ is summoned in Court to explain a matter involving a Magistrate.
