An Interior Ministry officer attached to the immigration office was this morning shot dead during a daily morning jog routine. – By Gerald Gekara.
According to the National Police Service, Phillip Sitienei, a senior Immigration Officer was shot dead along Lokichogio-Nadapal road.
Nadapal is a community in the south west of Kapoeta East County, (South Sudan) near the border with the Rift Valley.
It is alleged that the hit was carried out by unknown attackers shot him on the leg, shoulder and head.
“We condemn this heinous act with the strongest words possible. No stone will be left unturned until we get the killers of the Civil servant.” Police said in a statement.
His death is latest in a series of deaths surrounding civil officers in various government units.
Jennifer Itumbi Wambua’s body was found at the City Mortuary days after she had gone missing from his office.
Her body was collected from the Ngong area on Saturday, March 13.
On April 7th, Journalist Betty Barasa, working at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) was killed after being ambushed at the gate to her residence by a three armed men.
