Isebania: Police Intervene As Locals Protests Over Insecurity

Transport along the Isebania-Sirare corridor was halted for the majority of Sunday as villagers protesting insecurity engaged police officers in running fights.

Locals are outraged, claiming that the region’s recent outbreak of insecurity has killed many, the most recent being three businesspeople gunned murdered by unknown intruders on Sunday morning.

The protesters barricaded the highway and burned bonfires, halting traffic along the key sector.

Police personnel in Isebania had a difficult time keeping the situation under control because people refused to back down.

To restore calm in the town center, a special security conference with the business community has been called.
