Actor Isiah Whitlock Jr., best known for his memorable roles on “The Wire” and “Veep,” has died at the age of 71, his manager confirmed.
“It is with tremendous sadness that I share the passing of my dear friend and client Isiah Whitlock Jr.,” manager Brian Liebman wrote on Instagram.

A prolific character actor, Whitlock’s career spanned decades with appearances in films like “Goodfellas” and on shows including “Chappelle’s Show.” He was also a longtime collaborator of director Spike Lee, who shared a heartfelt tribute on social media.
“Today I Learned Of The Passing Of My Dear Beloved Brother ISIAH WHITLOCK. GOD BLESS,” Lee wrote, alongside a photo of the two men shaking hands.
