The CC added that the National Police Reservist (NPR) would work closely under the supervision of the area Officer Commanding Police Station (OCS), and that they would camp outside the villages in conservancy areas so that they could respond quickly to calls of distress.
He also stated that 130 conservancy rangers would be vetted, with 65 of them stationed in Merti Sub-County.
Omoding warned that NPRs found engaging in any type of crime other than protecting the lives and property of Isiolo County residents would be disarmed and prosecuted.
He also stated that approximately 20,000 animals belonging to Isiolo residents were still in the hands of criminals in Marsabit, Samburu, and Wajir who had been stealing from the area residents on a regular basis.
The administrator assured government assistance and urged them to provide information before the incidents occurred.
Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo stated that he would convene governors from the five neighboring counties to address the insecurity problem that had caused the region to lag behind in terms of development.
The Governor stated that Isiolo County has suffered at the hands of bandits from Wajir, Garissa, Marsabit, Samburu, and Meru, who have killed innocent people and stolen livestock.
He also stated that he would follow up with security officers to ensure that justice is served to Isiolo residents and that stolen animals that are unaccounted for are returned.
