Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has dismissed Aileen Kajuju, County Executive Committee Member (CEC) for Education, in a Cabinet reshuffle aimed at improving service delivery.

The move also saw changes across key departments in the county government.

In the reshuffle, Deputy Governor James Lowasa, previously serving as CEC for Health, has been moved to head the Education, Youth, and Sports Department.

Abdullahi Banticha, who was in charge of Finance, Economic Planning, and ICT, will now lead the Tourism, Trade, and Cooperative Department.

Lawrence Mwongela, previously the CEC for Trade, will take over the Finance Department.

Several CECs retained their positions, including Allo Wario (Water, Sanitation, Environment, and Climate Change), Yussuf Mohammed (Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries), and Yussuf Dahir (Lands, Physical Planning, Roads, and Public Works).

Governor Guyo also nominated Lucy Kagwiria to serve as CEC for Health, pending vetting by the county assembly.

“The reshuffle is intended to align the county’s leadership with our goal of better service delivery,” Governor Guyo said.

The county’s 31 chief officers, responsible for day-to-day administration, have also been subjected to performance contracts to ensure accountability and efficiency in their respective departments.
