Cases involving unlawful entry of foreigners in Kenya contrary to the law are on the rise recently.

A middle-aged man from Nigeria was arraigned in Court where he was charged with using a forged passport to enter Kenya via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Israel Odianosen Abhulimhen was arrested on April 24, 2022 at JKIA with a forged Passport number CA240141, whose bio data page was substituted.

At the time of arrest he was leaving Kenya to Paris, France using Kenya Airways.

Further, he was also charged with possessing a forged residence card.

The prosecution submitted that on the material date, Mr. Abhulimhen was found using a forged Portuguese residence card while leaving Kenya to Paris.

Details concerning how the accused managed to enter the highly guarded Airport remains anonymous.

However, the accused denied particulars of the charges before Magistrate Susan Shitubi of Milimani Law Courts.

Prosecution objected to his release on bond pending hearing of the case stating that he is a flight risk.

The court directed the accused to be remanded in custody pending ruling of his bail terms.
