Githunguri Member of Parliament (MP) Gathoni Wamuchomba has promised United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala a bruising battle after he sent her a warning.
Malala on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, warned a section of UDA elected leaders and Cabinet Secretaries over their recent style of politics.
In a press statement read by Malala at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after jetting back from his tour of China, Malala told Wamuchomba, her Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi and Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga that the ruling party will take a disciplinary action against them should they continue disrespecting top party leaders.
Wamuchomba in her response has told Malala that she attended the Limuru 3 political forum because it had been convened by her community, the Agikuyu.
“Malala welcome back from China. I hope you chewed out taxes right and enjoyed to the last drop. Yes, while you were away there was Limuru 3 forum which was the Agikuyu forum. Being the Gikuyu I am I attended and addressed like a “Nyakinyua” What was your problem? come clear!” Wamuchomba said in a social media statement.
She further stated that Malala has been rattled by the demand for equality by a section of Mount Kenya leaders allied to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
According to Wamuchomba, the push for ‘one man one vote shilling’ has not sat well with Malala and he is now using it as a political bait.
“I gues what Rattled you is that thing we demand called EQUALITY of resources ( One man one vote one shilling)an issue that you and your cronies use as a political bait. Mt Kenya population just believed in UDA on this promise,” Wamuchomba stated.
The former Kiambu County Woman MP further argued that UDA party is founded by democratic principles, and that she should not be threatened.
“My party is Called United DEMOCRATIC alliance Meaning the party is Founded by democratic principles Mainly liberty and equality. You have the Liberty to do the needful. I’m happy you have started the Journey it will be bumpy and Itchy. Where I come from “Tutihakagwo Macuru” We don’t buy fear, we die while chewing razor blades. You touch the Hill you shake the Mountain,” Wamuchomba stated.
