Italian President Sergio Mattarella is scheduled to meet with Kenyan President William Ruto in an effort to strengthen bilateral ties.
The meeting is expected to take place at State House in Nairobi and will cover a variety of topics, including trade, security, and tourism.
Sergio arrived in the country last night and was received by Alfred Mutua, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
Italy is a major trading partner for Kenya, with bilateral trade worth more than 300 million euros in 2021.
The two presidents’ meeting is expected to focus on ways to improve bilateral trade and investment.
The visit is expected to increase trade and investment opportunities between Kenya and Italy, as well as promote the development of key sectors like water, agriculture, and tourism.
During his four-day official visit to the country, Mattarella will also give a public lecture on climate change at the University of Nairobi.
