Itumbi Lines Up 21 Politicians As Witnesses In Ruto Assassination Case

Denis Itumbi, the former State House digital director, has stated through his lawyer that he will invite at least 5 senators, 3 CSs, and 14 members of Parliament to testify in his case.

Itumbi was called to testify in a case in which he is accused of forging President William Ruto’s assassination letter.

He also stated that five former members of parliament as well as five parastatal chiefs who purportedly attended the La Mada meeting will testify in his defence.

Itumbi was accused of forging documents, disseminating forgeries, and reprogramming a phone.

Itumbi and his co-accused Samwel Gateri were put in their defence in September of last year.

The case was coming up for defence hearing today, however, one of the defence lawyers was not present prompting the case to be adjourned to March 20, 2023.

The defence pleaded with the court to fix the hearing on a Monday stating that the majority of the witnesses are lawmakers hence the need to fix the hearing on a non-parliamentary day.
