Muslim faithful’s are set to go back to their prayer as Jamia mosque is set to open on August 18,2020. This comes after the inter-Faith Council revised guidelines and has now allowed places of worship to accommodate more than 100 people.
Muslim faithful’s will however be required to follow some guidelines as they reopen which include each and every Muslim to carry their own mats and maintain a distance of one metre apart. “No carpets, kindly bring your prayer mats. See you on Tuesday 18, Insha Allah,” Jamia Mosque tweeted.
Places of worship were given the green light to reopen by President Uhuru Kenyatta in July. However, Jamia Mosque issued a statement saying that the guidelines issued limiting the number of worshipers to 100 persons per session are not practical, given the mosque’s geographical location in Nairobi.
