According to the DCI, Homicide investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have completed the first phase of their investigation into the death of Geoffrey Mwathi Ngugi nicknamed Jeff on February 22, 2023.
The procedure includes questioning the initial group of witnesses in the case, forensic analysis of the scene, and retrieval of CCTV footage of the deceased’s last moments.
Numerous additional forensic professionals from the DCI National Forensic Laboratory who are assisting the Homicide team have also acquired critical evidence, which is being scientifically analyzed.
“We are now progressing to the second phase of the investigations where several persons of interest in the case will be interrogated, and appropriate recommendations made before being forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for action.” said DCI.
Meanwhile, the public is asked to be patient as the Directorate investigates the circumstances behind Jeff’s tragic death.
