Outgoing Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho has thanked the county staff for their assistance over the past ten years.
Furthermore, as he reflected on his ten years as governor, the flamboyant politician was overjoyed with what he said he’d accomplished with his soon-to-be-former employees.
“As I reflect upon the last 10 years as governor of this great county of Mombasa, I am filled with joy of all the great things that we achieved together. This particular journey of transformation required a lot of courage and resilience from all of us.”
He added that the county staff had offered him the critical support needed to entrench the spirit of devolution.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the county government staff for your herculean efforts in making our county a better place and ensuring that the spirit of devolution touched every single resident of Mombasa.”
Joho made his political debut in 2007 when he was elected Kisauni MP.
Joho, a well-known politician and businessman, then served as governor of Mombasa for ten years.
He is a staunch supporter of Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and the vice-chairperson of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Odinga had promised him the position of Lands Cabinet Secretary if he won the presidency in the August 2022 elections.
