JSC Recommends Appointment of 20 High Court Judges

    According to Chief Justice Martha Koome, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has recommended the appointment of 20 High Court judges and has submitted the names to President William Ruto for appointment.

    The JSC said in a statement on Thursday that they had completed the evaluation process for the candidates interviewed for the positions.

    According to the commission, the 20 were chosen based on merit, gender, regional balance, and affirmative action.

    Among those nominated are Gichohi Patricia, Josephine Mongare, Patricia Nyaundi, Diana Kavedza, Sophie Chirchir, and Mwaisha Said.

    Others include Heston, Nyaga, JOHN Chigiti, Peter Mulwa, Lawrence Mugambi, Gregory Mutai, Robert Wananda, Samwel Mukira, Francis Ochieng, Fred Mugambi, and Dennis Magare.

    Florence Macharia, Teresa Achieng, and Aleem Visram have also been chosen.

    The JSC advertised for the position of High Court Judge on March 14 and completed the selection process on Thursday.

    “The commission wishes to thank all the candidates, Kenyans and all stakeholders for their participation in the recruitment and selection process,” the statement concluded.
