The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has shortlisted 100 candidates for consideration in the ongoing recruitment of Judges of the High Court of Kenya.
In a public announcement, the Commission revealed that it had received a total of 377 applications by the close of the submission period on July 7, 2025, following the advertisement of 20 vacant positions on June 9, 2025.
After a detailed review to confirm eligibility, completeness and compliance with the outlined requirements, the JSC released a shortlist featuring both sitting judicial officers and prominent legal practitioners from across the country.
According to the notice, the shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews and suitability assessments as part of the selection process for appointment to the bench.
The recruitment drive seeks to strengthen the High Court’s capacity to handle the growing number of cases and enhance access to justice across the country.
Among those shortlisted are experienced magistrates, registrars and advocates, marking one of the most competitive judicial appointments in recent years.
Among the notable names are former Nyeri Woman Representative Priscilla Nyokabi Kanyu, EBS; Henry Faraji Chipinde; Patricia Naeku Leparashao; Anne Mary Auma Okutoyi; Salma Noah Ramadhan; Catherine Akaigwa Kassim; Joseph Kipkoech Biombo; Judith Chelangat Mutai; Ronald Gordon Rogo; Winnie Narasha Molonko; Ritah Nangila Mukhongo; Edmond Kiplangat Githuvii; Chrisphine Otieno Owiyo; and Annah Cherono Konuche.
Others include “Hon. Esther Kalunde Kimilu, Hon. Yusuf Abdallah Shikanda, Solomon Kimathi Njeru, Emmanuel Omondi Bitta, Jack Busalie Ouma Mwimali, Hon. Angela Njeri Thuku, Hon. Esther Boke, Hon. David Wanjohi Mburu, Hon. Peter Oduor Doko, Hon. Harrison Omwima Barasa, and Hon. Martha Wanzila Mutuku,” among others.
The Commission announced that it will communicate the interview dates in due course. Members of the public have been invited to submit any written information of concern regarding any of the shortlisted candidates. Such submissions should be addressed to the Secretary, Judicial Service Commission, P.O. Box 40048 – 00100 Nairobi, or sent via email to recruitment@jsc.go.ke.

The JSC emphasised that it may interview members of the public who provide information on the candidates and assured that such information will be treated confidentially.
