Kariri Njama, a Jubilee aspirant in the Kiambaa by-elections last week, has been left on his own.
The candidate, who lost the race to UDA Party,is seeking court orders to force the IEBC to recount the ballots.
After it was revealed that millions of shillings were wired into the campaigns coordinated by the parliamentary leaders, Njama, who had previously acknowledged defeat, did a U-turn after blame games broke out among the ‘Kieleweke’ members.
Things became more difficult after campaign leaders stated that the party’s secretary-general Raphael Tuju, chair Nelson Dzuya, and vice-chairperson David Murathe failed to provide guidelines to the members.
Speaking with KTN News yesterday, Tuju refuted reports that the party asked for a recount of the votes, adding that it is a responsibility by the candidate, despite the NMC alleging that there were some manipulations.
Commenting on why the president did not step foot in Kiambaa to campaign for Kariri Njama, Tuju stated that the by-election was not important to the party, adding that if it was crucial, he (the president) would have campaigned for Njama himself.
