Jubilee Party secretary general Raphael Tuju said the former government official was undergoing treatment of an undisclosed disease.
Waweru will be remembered for his service as the Sports Permanent Secretary, and his role as the Nairobi Provincial Commissioner under retired President Mwai Kibaki’s administration.
Former Mathira legislator David Murathe mourned Waweru as a hard working character who invested heavily to support the BBI.
