Jubilee Party Suspends Jeremiah Kioni As Secretary General

Former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni has been dismissed as Secretary General of the Uhuru-led Jubilee Party, the Jubilee Party Chairman Nelson Dzuya announced.

According to the party leadership, the former lawmaker was suspended due to laxity and misconduct.

The Uhuru-led outfit has also announced the suspension of its National Vice-Chairperson David Murathe.

The NEC also suspended Kagwe Gichohi, the national treasurer.

Speaking at the Jubilee Party Parliamentary Group meeting in Nakuru, the party’s top brass announced that EALA MP Kanini Kega will take over as acting Secretary General.

The Jubilee National Executive Council (NEC) also announced that they have begun the process of withdrawing from the Azimio coalition. The lawmakers also distanced themselves from Azimio’s anti-government demonstrations.

“The following officials are suspended forthwith and their cases are referred to the party’s Internal Dispute Resolution mechanism for further determination,” NEC said.

The Jubilee has appointed Rachel Nyamai as the new acting Treasurer, and Adan Kyenan as the acting National Vice Chairman.

The meeting was attended by lawmakers who switched from the opposition to President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza coalition last week.
