Judgement and sentencing of a convicted driver involved in the kidnaping of two Cuba doctors in 2019 has been deferred to Wednesday 23rd march 2022.

Both the state prosecutor and defense counsel were absent during the court session.

Milimani law courts magistrate Hon Martha Nanzushi said that the absence of the said counsels in court today and in a matter of such gravity remains a mystery yet to be resolved.

However, the presiding magistrate directed that the judgement and sentencing will have to be delivered on Wednesday in absence or presence of said counsels for the interest of justice.

“Members of the media you must record that the judgement is ready, the sentencing is ready and the only reason why sentencing is differed is because the prosecutor and the defense lawyers are not present in court today,” Said Hon Martha Nanzushi.

Issack Ibrein Robow, the convicted driver, was a Mandera County Government driver in 2019 when two Cuba doctors were abducted in Mandera County.

He was charged and later convicted in aiding Al shabaab terrorists to abduct the said doctors where he is believed to have wiling fully handed over the doctors to the terror group.
