A tweet claiming that Chief Justice Martha Koome praised the prayers held at the State House on Sunday has been refuted.
The Judiciary clarified that the tweet claiming Koome praised President William Ruto’s decision to hold the prayers was misleading.
The fake tweet was sent from a Twitter handle that included Koome’s profile photo, and the page is verified.
It further purported to challenge the Judiciary to follow suit.
“Thank you William Ruto for making State House a house of prayer. A good example for Kenya Judiciary. Kenya is a country of God,” the fake tweet read.

However, according to Koome’s official page, she last tweeted on September 23.
They misspelled her title on the fake account by using a small j, whereas it is capitalized on her real account.
President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto led thanksgiving prayers at the State House on Sunday.
