Three men from Juja who had one too many drinks on Thursday night found themselves sweeping the Thika Law Courts on Friday morning.
The trio was arrested at Weitethie area in Juja Sub-county after residents called police complaining of loud noise and unruly behaviour.
According to locals, the men had turned the street into a shouting match and were causing a scene that kept families awake late into the night.
Brought before the Thika Law Courts the next day, the men pleaded guilty to the charges. They admitted they had overindulged and lost control.
The court opted for a non-custodial sentence. The magistrate ordered the trio to perform community service within the Thika Law Courts compound for the remainder of the day.
The sentence included tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, and general maintenance under court supervision.
The magistrate emphasized the need for responsible behavior, particularly in residential areas, warning that future offenders would face stiffer penalties.
Upon satisfactory completion of their duties, the three men were to be released and allowed to return home.
