Cherera Dispells IEBC Wrangles Rumor

Cherera and other commissioners allegedly weren't informed of the arrival of the first batch of voting ballots, according to allegations made three weeks prior.

Vice-chairperson of the electoral agency Juliana Cherera has refuted claims that she was prevented from visiting Greece with her counterpart Francis Wanderi.

She denied allegations that they were ignored by saying that the pair was among the top IEBC officials who brought several stakeholders to Greece to see the printing of presidential ballots.

Cherera and other commissioners allegedly weren’t informed of the arrival of the first batch of voting ballots, according to allegations made three weeks prior.

“I am the vice chair of the commission and it was important that I go see and certify before Kenyans that indeed the process has been done and it is clear and flawless,” she said.

Earlier this month, a commissioner had accused Chebukati and his secretariat of making decisions without consulting the other commissioners.
