Hon. Justice Joseph Kipchumba Kigen Katwa has appeared before the Judicial Service Commission for an interview as he seeks appointment to the Supreme Court of Kenya.
Justice Katwa is currently serving as a Judge of the Court of Appeal, having been recently elevated to the appellate bench.
The interview forms part of the Judicial Service Commission’s mandate to recruit and recommend qualified candidates for appointment to the superior courts.
The Judicial Service Commission is constitutionally mandated under Article 172 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 to promote and facilitate the effective and efficient administration of justice.
The ongoing interviews are part of the process to fill vacancies in the Supreme Court, Kenya’s highest court, which is tasked with interpreting the Constitution and determining matters of national importance.
