Former Kiambu Governor and aspirant William Kabogo has broken his silence, just a day after an ugly brawl with Wamatangi at the Kenya Kwanza rally in Kiambu.
The Tujibebe party leader accused Rigathi Gachagua, Kenya Kwanza’s presidential running mate, of being a dictator, claiming he is unfit to deputise the Kenya Kwanza frontman’s presidency bid.
Speaking at a rally on Thursday, June 16, Kabogo stated that he was strongly opposed to Gachagua being appointed as the running mate as the Mathira legislator is an abrasive autocrat who will likely rule with an iron fist if DP Ruto is elected to the House on August 9 general election.
“Ati wanatuambia lazima tutachagua Wamatangi, hiyo ndio maneno mnataka nyinyi? Kesho huyo Rigathi Gachagua atakuja hapa. Kabla ya kuchaguliwa Rigathi Gachagua na William Ruto, mimi nilikua nimepinga,” he said.
According to Kabogo, Gachagua’s alleged tyrant-like leadership style will cost DP Ruto important votes when Kenyans go to the polls.

Kabogo argued that the sibling rivalry in Mt Kenya stems from the region’s kingship position.
He claimed that Gachagua was the mastermind behind a number of chaotic scenes that have recently marred Kenya Kwanza rallies, where Mt. Kenya hailing affiliate parties have apparently played second fiddle to their United Democratic Alliance (UDA) counterparts when it comes to addressing Kenyans on the campaign trail.
“Amechaguliwa ndo maneno ya UDA na sisi imeanza kusoroteka. Kwa sababu huyo jamaa ni dikteta. Makosa yangu nikusema kweli kwa sababu niliambia Ruto atapoteza kura mingi kwa huyu jamaa. ”
This comes as Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria’s Chama Cha Kazi Party and Kabogo announced that they will no longer attend Kenya Kwanza rallies on the grounds that UDA politicians are allegedly getting preferential treatment while their members are being ‘bullied’ and gagged.
In a joint letter penned by Chama Cha Kazi Secretary General, James Nage, and his Tujibebe Party counterpart, Gathii Irungu, on Thursday, June 16, the two political outfits chronicled instances in which they were allegedly sidelined by UDA members on the campaign trail.
The letter was addressed to Kenya Kwanza co-principals DP Ruto, Amani National Congress boss Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya equal, Moses Wetangula.
The duo further blamed Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichungwah, of instructing a caucus in UDA to cut ties with Chama Cha Kazi and Tujibebe Party.
