Kakamega DCI Officer Mugged By Thugs, Pistol Stolen

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an attack on a Kakamega North Sub County Criminal Investigation officer and robbing him of a pistol loaded with 15 bullets.

The suspects slashed the officer on the head and left arm as he was unloading luggage from a truck before robbing him of the Pistol, a cell phone, and some money.

The detective was heading home from duty in Nairobi when he was accosted by two men armed with machetes. He sustained serious wounds on his head and left arm.

Mr. Paul Mwenda, Commander of Kakamega North Sub County Police, said a manhunt had been launched to arrest other suspects involved in the attack.

He stated that detectives were doing everything possible to retrieve the handgun.

“We have yet to determine the motive for the attack, but our officers have arrested two suspects and are looking for others.” “We have received information that will assist us in recovering the firearm and other items stolen from the officer,” Mr. Mwenda added.
