Kakuma Court convicted and sentenced a man to 20 years imprisonment for being in possession of a mobile phone with information meant to commit an act of terrorism.
The trial court presided by Hon. Charles Ayamba heard that Omar Seif Khamis was found with the said phone at the Kenya Coast Guard Turkana Station in 2022.
The court ruled that the Prosecution through Mr. Isaac Wasike had proved their case beyond any reasonable doubt to warrant a conviction and subsequent sentencing.
“Upon perusing the evidence tabled before this court by the prosecution and the witnesses testimonies, this court is left with only option, to convict and sentence the accused person to serve 20 years in prison. Right of Appeal within 14 days after this judgement.” Concluded the Magistrate.
