In the next 2022 General Election, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has stated that he will not back ODM leader Raila Odinga for President.
In an interview with NTV, Kalonzo stated unequivocally that endorsing Mr. Odinga, his co-principal in the National Super Alliance (NASA), for the third time would make him “the stupidest person on earth.”
“For me, as of now, it is unthinkable that I, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, would support Raila Odinga for the third time. I would be the most stupid fellow on earth to go and support a presidential candidate without a measure of reciprocity,” said Kalonzo.
In the last two elections, in 2013 and 2017, the Wiper leader was Odinga’s running mate, although they were both unsuccessful in winning the country’s top post.
Mr. Odinga stated last week at the burial of former MP Kalembe Ndile that he was eager to talk to Kalonzo and strike an accord.
“Mimi na Kalonzo hatuwezi kosana,” Raila said. “Mimi na Kalonzo tutashikana tutoe hawa wezi, fisi waliovalia ngozi ya kondoo.”
