There is a new political bus in town. The One Kenya Alliance has been unveiled consisting of Wiper, ANC, FORD Kenya and KANU parties. – By Gerald Gekara.
Moses Wetangula (FORD-K), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Gideon Moi (KANU) and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) attended the press briefing to present the alliance to Kenyans.
The party’s primary objective is to promote the Constitutional Amendment bill by the Building Bridges Initiative, as well as promote peace and unity.
KANU party leader Gideon Moi said the partnership was as a result of sharing mutual interests in a peaceful nation.
“We are forging solid partnerships with leaders with whom we share a vision for a peaceful, united, secure, and prosperous nation.” he added.
Former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka who spoke on their role in promoting the BBI, said they would not field a candidate in Jubilee strongholds.
“One Kenya Alliance will not field candidates in the Garissa senatorial contest, Juja and Bonchari. We shall support the Jubilee candidates in those regions. We might even show them the tricks that we used to win” Kalonzo said.
ODM, Jubilee and UDA have already shown mixed interest in contesting for Garissa, Rurii and Juja elective seats.
