The Wiper Movement Party leader had earlier pleaded for forgiveness from President Uhuru on behalf of Mike Sonko regretting that Sonko had hurled insults to the President.

This comes hours after nine aides of the embattled ex-Nairobi governor got arrested by the anti-terrorism unit. The ATPU Director John Gachomo said the group of nine shall be charged at Kamiti Law Courts tomorrow.

Sonko’s arrest has fueled hot political discourse across the country with the Former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri accusing President Uhuru Kenyatta of being bias in dealing with Mike Sonko.

Sonko’s bail request decision which was to be made on Thursday, February 4, is expected to be made tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9,2021.
