A convicted prisoner serving a life sentence has offered to expose police officers and prison wardens in Kamiti Maximum Security Prison.
Patrick Amere, who is currently serving a life sentence in Kamiti, surprised the court when he appeared in a miscellaneous application and asked the court to issue orders for him to be escorted to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and record a statement.
“Your honor, I plead with this court to issue orders so that I can record a statement and name the top officers who are helping prisoners in this conning business. It is not possible for a convict serving life imprisonment in a top security prison to defraud people without assistance from security officers,” said Patrick Amere the prisoner in court.
However, the sitting magistrate directed the convict to raise the issues when the trial magistrate resumes duty on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
Amere who is currently serving life imprisonment at Kamiti maximum faces another charge of defrauding Dr. Selina Vukinu Ambe Ksh 800,000.
According to the current charge sheet, the convict is said to have promised Dr. Selina a white-collar job at Statehouse in Nairobi. Â He directed Dr. Selina to send the said amount to secure her position which was imminent at the moment.Â
The unsuspecting Dr. Selina forwarded the cash only to realize she was a fraud victim at an advanced stage of the crime.Â
The court is anticipated to deliver justice to Dr. Selina, who represents thousands of additional victims whose cases have yet to be heard in court.
