Police in Nairobi have launched investigations after three M-Pesa shops in Kamukunji area were robbed of a total of Sh1.34 million on Thursday morning, May 5.
In the robbery that occurred at 5.30 a.m., Shadrack Ondera lost Sh244, 000, Mumo of Maanal Ventures lost Sh300, 000 while Mutile lost Sh800, 000.
According to a police report, the victims were approached by six men armed with what appeared to be pistols.
They were then asked to surrender their money, and after doing so, the robbers walked slowly away and entered into the Majengo slums.
After the incident, Mutile reported the case at 6:58 a.m. at Shauri Moyo police station.
Police also say that a fourth shop belonging to Ann Ngina Kilonzi was also broken into, but nothing was stolen because there was no money in the storage box.
According to police, no injuries were reported and an investigation into the robbery has begun.
