Ousted Senate Chief Whip Senator Irungu Kangata has now said he handshake fall out between Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga was imminent. – By Gerald Gekara.

Speaking to the press shortly after Senator James Orengo lashed out at the President’s office, Kang’ata accused the ODM wing of the handshake for deliberately sabotaging the Jubilee party to pave way for an unfair shot at the presidency.

He went on to add that their decision to lean on the Deputy President William Ruto has guaranteed them a shot at national politics.

““We warned President Uhuru not to enter any political partnership with Raila, but he refused, and the government started fighting us… Now he can see for himself. If we had dared to follow handshake, and fought Ruto, we would now be completely isolated,” claimed Kang’ata.

Senator James Orengo in an explosive address to the President, cited growing divisions between ODM and Jubilee claiming that there were civil servants trying to stop Raila Odinga’s presidential ambitions.

“I want to warn some top civil servants paid by taxpayers’ money to stop meddling in the country’s political leadership,”Orengo said.

The dynamic shift in politics over the weekend has led to massive chatter about Raila’s 2022 Game plan.

From saying he doesn’t have a problem in supporting Mombasa Governor Joho for the top seat, to rumours of a possible alliance with arch rival Deputy President William Ruto.
