Karen Man Charged With Forging Land Documents in Ksh 200 Million Property Dispute

By Peter John

A man has been charged at the Milimani Law Courts for allegedly forging documents to take over a valuable piece of land in Karen.

Benick Otieno Okombo was presented in court on 9th December 2025, where he faced four counts, including forgery and uttering false documents.

According to the prosecution, Okombo is accused of forging a transfer of land document for a 5.18-acre property.

The land, worth about Ksh 200 million, belongs to Avice Cynthia Nevill Belletti.

The prosecution told the court that the accused pretended the transfer was signed on 23rd September 2014 by Belletti, even though he knew it was fake.

The court also heard that Okombo later used the same forged document in a case before the Environment and Land Court on 6th September 2022.

He is said to have knowingly presented the false transfer as genuine evidence in ELC Case No. E383 of 2021.

Okombo was arrested on 8th December 2025 and was remanded after his court appearance the following day.

The court granted him a cash bail of Ksh 100,000, but he must also provide two contact persons.

Alternatively, he may be released on a bond of Ksh 1 million with one surety of the same amount.

The complainant in the case is Joanna Block Oser, who is representing the Belletti family.

The case will be mentioned again on 16th December 2025 for a pre-trial session, where the court will confirm readiness for the hearing.
